Wij willen met het LHF Best of Both Worlds
Programma aantonen dat de lokale gezondheidszorg
in ontwikkelingslanden binnen 10 jaar structureel èn
substantieel kan verbeteren door te investeren in de
duurzame ontwikkeling van de economie, te beginnen
met ons pilot project in Yele, Sierra Leone.
De economische activiteiten moeten binnen die periode
voldoende kunnen opbrengen om de exploitatiekosten
van het ziekenhuis te dekken. Om die periode fnancieel
te kunnen overbruggen is de Lion Heart Foundation
afhankelijk van de steun van donateurs en sponsoren.
Onze missie is geslaagd als het Best of Both Worlds
concept gekopieerd kan worden naar andere regio’s en
wij ons overbodig weten te maken.
De Lion Heart Foundation staat voor:
Transparantie en betrouwbaarheid
Openheid naar elkaar en naar de wereld om ons heen is
de basis van het vertrouwen, een verantwoordelijkheid
waarvan wij ons zeer bewust zijn en waar wij naar
handelen.
Samenwerking en respect
Het succes van LHF is direct afhankelijk van de
samenwerking met elkaar, met onze lokale partners
en met de bevolking van Sierra Leone. Vanuit die
verbondenheid neemt ieder zijn verantwoordelijkheid
voor het uiteindelijke resultaat, met energie, passie en
gedrevenheid. Wat we doen willen we goed doen. We
respecteren de verschillen in achtergrond, cultuur en
belangen en wijzen corruptie af.
Ondernemerschap en hulp
Dat ondernemerschap en hulp (Best of Both Worlds)
heel goed samengaan, laat LHF elke dag zien. Het is
juist dat bevlogen en vindingrijke ondernemerschap
dat LHF al heeft gebracht waar we nu zijn.
Duurzaamheid en realisme
Het geloof in een betere wereld begint bij onszelf
en wat wij als werkgemeenschap daaraan kunnen
bijdragen. Dat is onze stellige overtuiging en dat laten
we elke dag opnieuw zien met onze pragmatische
aanpak, die werkt. De som van onze royale ervaring
en grote gedrevenheid delen we met de bevolking
van Sierra Leone. Alleen een duurzame economische
ontwikkeling kan borg staan voor goede toegankelijke
medische zorg en onderwijs, en de bevolking van
Sierra Leone helpen om te ontsnappen aan de extreme
armoedeval waarin zij zich nu nog bevindt.
By implementing our Best of Both Worlds program,
we will show that health care in developing countries
can, structurally and substantially, be improved within
10 years through investing in sustainable economic
developments, starting with our pilot project in Yele,
Sierra Leone. This support must, within a 10-year period,
generate suffcient revenue to cover the running costs of
our hospital and our schooling project. The Lion Heart
Foundation is dependent on sponsors and donations
to fnance this 10-year period of development and
improvement. Our mission will be a success once the Best
of Both Worlds concept is ready to be implemented across
other regions and our support is no longer needed.

The success of LHF is dependent on the co-operation with
each other and the collaboration with our local partners
and the population of Sierra Leone. This solidarity
drives us each, energetically and passionately, to bear
responsibility for the fnal results.
What we do, we want to do well
We respect the differences in background, culture and
interests, go the extra mile, improvise, come up with
unusual solutions, and are entrepreneurial. It is this
combination that makes us unique and we are
proud of that.
Entrepreneurship and aid
LHF is living proof that entrepreneurship and foreign
aid (Best of Both Worlds) partner well together. It is this
inspired and creative entrepreneurship that has brought
LHF to where we are today.
Sustainability and realism
The belief in a better world starts with ourselves and
the contribution we can make as a team. This is our frm
belief, and we live up to that on a daily basis through
our pragmatic approach, which is delivering results. We
share the sum of our extensive experience and passion
with the population of Sierra Leone - as only a sustained
development of medical care, education and economic
activity will help the local population to escape the
poverty trap in which they fnd themselves.
