Atto Mensah bezoekt projecten LHF
Atto Mensah visits LHF projects
The frst stop was at the oil mill. Mr. Thoronka and
Mr. Max Kanu were there to welcome the guest. After
introductions, Mr. Thoronka welcomed the guest and
registered his appreciation that such a Sierra Leonean
legend is ready to work with our projects. He encouraged
Mr. Mensah to co-operate with our bosses in Holland
as they have good intentions for the poor people. Mr.
Mensah in response thanked Mr. Thoronka for the warm
welcome and promised to fgure out if it was workable to
co-operate with Lion Heart Foundation.
Mr. Thoronka guided us through the oil mill and soap
factory explaining all the processes of producing palm
oil by steam system and processing of soap. Mr. Max
Kanu was kind enough to add something about our
plantations. From the oil mill compound, Ms. Greta
Hernandez led the Medical center tour. She gave a brief
rundown of the present operational situation of the
center and showed Mr. Mensah around the various
sections of the facility. Before heading for the water
plant project site, Mr. Mensah signed the visitor’s book
of Nedoil. On the way from the mill compound to the
water plant, Mr. Sheika Turay was introduced to the
visitor. Adjan Hoste of Zebra Special Projects took charge
showing and explaining to Mr. Mensah about the water
plant project. Around 2:15 pm, we were all again at
Donald’s house for a well prepared Emmanuel and Greta
lunch. Mr. Ruurd van Rooijen left for Makeni immediately
after lunch because he had some other appointments to
keep. Before leaving the Donald’s house around 3:10 pm,
Mr. Mensah signed the LHF guests’ book and thanked
everybody for receiving him so well. On our way, we
drove by the SDA School and I showed him the boarding
home and school roof which Lion Heart Foundation has
rehabilitated. I also explained to him about the school
tables, the scholarship, library and computer room plans
for the SDA School. Furthermore, I mentioned the plans
for the e-Luma shopping mall and showed him the
proposed land for that project.Later in the evening when
we arrived in Freetown, Mr. Mensah expressed gratitude
for the trip and said he was more than impressed and
satisfed. He kept assuring me of his willingness to work
with us. For me, it was great meeting and doing things
with him. As it occurred on to me, co-operating with
Mr. Atto Mensah can also make a positive impact to the
success of the Lion Heart Foundation in Sierra Leone.
by Edward Adikalie
overgenomen.
